The Lean Foundation Course

This four day course is aimed at operatives, team leaders and managers and provides a foundation level of knowledge and skills – providing the first steps for an organisation’s Lean journey.  Developed in partnership with industry by the National Skills Academy for Manufacturing (NSA-M) - part of the SEMTA Sector Skills Council – the Lean Foundation Course is only delivered by NSA-M approved trainers.

Track Training delivers this Lean Foundation Award in the workplace to minimize disruption to work-flow. Candidates receive an accredited NSA-M Award upon completion of all modules.

Many organisations are looking to improve the efficiency of their business and develop the skills of their employees to be able to contribute and add value. The application of Lean thinking is a proven cost-down solution that can provide real impact and a return on investment (ROI).

The Lean Foundation course is an introductory level course which enables candidates to understand methods for eliminating waste in business processes and how they can contribute to business improvement.  As a team, candidates will be encouraged to think about the application of these tools through project identification in the workplace, and how they can individually take the next step in their development and contribute to the organisation through a work-based learning project at Level 2 or 3 in Business Improvement Techniques.

Candidates will be expected to work in small teams and will be using a range of interactive learning techniques to help embed learning, but will be supported by the tutor at all times.  Candidates must complete all of the modules to achieve the NSA-M Lean Foundation Award.

Only providers recognised by the The National Skills Academy for Manufacturing (NSA-M)can deliver this programme and provide a Certificate of Achievement endorsed by the NSA-M upon completion of this course.
