ILM Team Leading Apprenticeship Level 2
The Institute of Leadership & Management (ILM) Team Leading Apprenticeship is a nationally recognised qualification delivered to national occupational standards at level 2. It provides a structured programme of assessment and training through a Technical Certificate, an NVQ and Key Skills. It is a flexible training programme that is delivered entirely in the workplace.
The Team Leading programme will provide training from industry experienced tutors and assess competency for the role. The Apprenticeship comprehensively covers the full range of roles and responsibilities of the team/group leader or member.
Candidates automatically become student members of the Institute of Leadership & Management upon enrolment for this qualification.
The Apprenticeship framework is delivered entirely in the workplace (no need to attend college) in 3 core elements:
1. Transferable Skills – Key Skills
- Application of Number - Level 1
- Communication - Level 1
2. Knowledge Based Element – A taught ILM Team Leading Technical Certificate
- The ILM Level 2 Certificate in Team Leading (QCF) – 500/3589/7
3. Competency Based Element – A National Vocational Certificate (NVQ) to assess the application of knowledge through competency:
- ILM Level 2 NVQ Certificate in Team Leading (QCF) – 500/9723/4
Employment Rights and Responsibilities
ERR will be covered through induction and the ERR Induction workbook. The provider will return a sign off sheet as evidence of completion, signed by the employer, apprentice and provider.
The Apprenticeship Framework in Team Leading L2 - Framework Code 260 - offers additional units to the NVQ and usually takes 12-15 months to complete. The qualification covers a Knowledge-based element (Technical Certificate), Transferrable Skills element (Key Skills) and a Competency based element (NVQ) which assesses your ability to use the skills any other awarding body.
